Davicom 2018, the year in review

As 2018 draws to a close, it is good to look back and take stock of everything accomplished at Davicom during the past year.

In the first quarter of 2018, we finished development and EMC testing on our 3rd generation of remote site management systems, the Cortex360.

Also during this first quarter, we launched this new product with the biggest and most well-coordinated marketing campaign in Comlab’s history. The http://Cortex360.davicom.com micro-web site was also launched. The campaign culminated with an official presentation at the April NAB show in Las Vegas.

At this show, our Cortex360 won a “Best of Show” award from Radio Magazine. This award honors outstanding new products exhibited at the spring show in Vegas.

The Cortex360 also won the 2018 SBE Technology award at the Society of Broadcast Engineers annual conference in Boston. This award recognizes excellence and achievement in new broadcast products from sustaining member companies.

Meanwhile, our production department was quite busy manufacturing the biggest order ever booked by Comlab. Delivery was successfully completed as expected for the end of June.

As if that wasn’t enough, we decided to move the company into new facilities with a better ground-floor layout and a full loading dock, thereby improving workflows in all departments. Comlab had been in the old, 2nd floor location for 23 years!

2018 has been a very busy, but an excellent year for Comlab, and 2019 looks to be as good, if not better!
