RoHS and WEEE Compliance

It is Comlab's goal to meet our customer's needs with respect to the WEEE & RoHS initiative.  The Davicom MAC2, MiniMAC2 and MicroMAC products have been designed from the start to be compliant with these European Union initiatives.  From time to time, we will update this page with additional information.  Please check back for further updates.

Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) 2002/95/EC Directive

The RoHS Directive restricts use of certain substances (lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium and two bromine-containing flame retardants - PBB and PBDE) in electrical and electronic products sold in the European Union after July 1, 2006.

In the Davicom MAC2, MiniMAC2 and MicroMAC products, RoHS substances are eliminated (to levels below legal limits), except where it is widely recognized that there is no technically feasible alternative (as indicated by an exemption under the European Union RoHS Directive).

Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE)

 2002/96/EC Directive

The WEEE Directive ensures the proper recycling of waste resulting from any electrical and/or electronic items. The directive came into effect on August 13, 2005, and is only applicable for the European Member States.

The Davicom MAC2, MiniMAC2 and MicroMAC products comply with the WEEE Directive. These products are marketed with the “crossed out wheeled bin” WEEE symbol in accordance with European Standard 50419.

This symbol on the product indicates that this product must not be disposed of with other waste. Instead, it is your responsibility to dispose of your waste equipment by handing it over to the dealer where you purchased the product, or to Comlab, the manufacturer of the product. The separate collection and recycling of your waste equipment at the time of disposal will help to conserve natural resources and ensure that it is recycled in a manner that protects human health and the environment.

For Davicom MAC products sold after August 13, 2005 in the European Union, Comlab will provide free recycling of those products once a customer has returned them to an authorized dealer of Davicom products and where a replacement Davicom MAC product is being supplied. Where a replacement product is not being supplied, recycling services can be provided on request at additional cost.
