The DVR simply connects to the site's IP interface (router/switch) in parallel with the MAC. DVR's having video motion detection capability are then connected to one of the MAC's Status Inputs. If motion is detected, the MAC can send alarms by one of many means such as E-mail, SMS, telephone, cell phone, fax...
If the DVR is suitably programmed, the user can then connect to the unit through the web and browse through the video recordings to identify who or what set off the motion alarm.
