The FMPM-01 FM Power Monitor is designed to detect the carrier at the output of a transmitter and develop a DC voltage proportional to the transmitted power. The high performance built-in FM detector, mono or stereo, will provide the signal required to perform all essential audio measurements such as frequency response, noise and distortion that will help to determine if a transmitter is properly calibrated.
The power monitor is designed to be fed from a directional coupler or an "RF Sniffer" on a transmission line. The detector is linear over a 20 dB range and will give accurate indications in case of power changes. This information can be used to feed a remote monitoring and control system like the Davicom MAC.
A bar graph meter, sensitive to peak audio levels, is available to indicate the percentage of modulation from the transmitter.
The audio output from the monitor can also be used to feed an audio presence detector such as the
Scientel DAPD-01, generating a DC voltage proportional to the peak level of the audio signal and an alarm indication if the audio level drops below a user programmable threshold.
